Ryan Sims was a great friend of Derek Lingle, the Quad City Heat's founder. And while many don't know, Ryan helped out with the construction of the field that the Heat play on, helping make a lasting impact in the community before his untimely passing in 2005. He was a skilled athlete, a respectful young man, a veteran, and a great human being. For his honor, we give this award. |
